This policy explains how Prime Fencing Launceston handles personal information collected through this website. It covers the enquiry and quote forms on the site, and email or phone contact that follows from them.

We are a small local fencing business, not an online service. We collect the least we can get away with, because the only thing we actually need is enough detail to come and look at your fence.

If you fill in a quote form on this site, we receive exactly the fields on that form:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address
• Your suburb, if you enter it
• The type of fencing you are enquiring about
• Anything you type into the message box

Our forms include a hidden field, a record of when the page loaded, and a short icon check. They exist to tell automated spam apart from real people and are not used for anything else.

Our web server also keeps standard request logs, which can include your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These are ordinary hosting logs, not a profile of you.

We use your details to respond to your enquiry, arrange an on-site measure, prepare and send your quote, and carry out the work if you go ahead. That is the whole purpose.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade or share it for anyone else's marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you asked for a fencing quote.

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use it. It sets cookies in your browser and records things like which pages you viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what device and browser you used, and how you arrived.

We look at that as totals and trends, not to work out who you are. Google processes it as a third party, and their own terms cover what they do with it. We do not run advertising pixels and we do not sell or share this data.

We also count a few specific actions so we know which parts of the site actually help: tapping the phone number, clicking the email address, submitting the quote form, and how far down a page people read.

You can opt out through your browser's cookie settings, or with Google's official opt-out browser add-on. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

The fonts here are served from this website rather than from a third party, so reading a page does not report your visit to a font provider.

Your enquiry is stored in our hosted database and delivered to us by email, so our database, email and hosting providers necessarily handle it in transit and storage. That is the only routine disclosure of your enquiry itself.

Beyond that we would only disclose your information if you asked us to, or if we were required to by law. On a shared boundary fence we will give YOU a written quote to pass to your neighbour, rather than contacting them ourselves.

We keep quote enquiries while they are live and for a reasonable period afterwards, because a fencing quote is often revisited months later and because we may need the record for tax or warranty reasons.

If you would rather we did not keep your details once a job is finished or a quote has lapsed, ask us and we will remove them.

This site is served over an encrypted connection, and enquiries are stored in a restricted database and sent to a mailbox we control. We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.

We will not pretend that any system is impossible to breach. If something did go wrong in a way that put you at risk, we would tell you.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will action it within a reasonable time.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles as a matter of practice, and we will not ask you to justify a request to see or remove your own details.

Tell us first and we will try to sort it out directly, because that is almost always faster. If you are still not satisfied, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

If our practices change, this page changes with them, and the date below is updated. We will not quietly broaden what we do with your details and leave an old policy on the site.
